Vibra Travels
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a critical care hospital?
A critical care hospital—also known as a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH)—specializes in treating patients with serious medical conditions who require extended hospital stays. These patients are often recovering from complex illnesses or surgeries and need ongoing, high-level care for several weeks.
What types of facilities do you staff?
At Vibra Travels, we work with a variety of healthcare settings—acute medical rehabilitation hospitals, critical care (long-term acute care) hospitals, short-term acute care hospitals, and behavioral health facilities. If you’re a clinician, and there’s a need, we can place you—whether it’s at the bedside, in a leadership role, or in a specialized position that fits your skills and goals.
What positions do you staff?
We staff a broad range of clinical positions across both travel and permanent placements. This includes RNs, LPNs, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. We also support allied health professionals—such as certified occupational therapy assistants (COTAs), physical therapist assistants (PTAs), various tech roles, certified nursing assistants (CNAs), imaging professionals (like radiologic technologists and sonographers), and lab personnel.
Whether you’re exploring travel opportunities or seeking a permanent role, we’re here to help you find the right fit.
What states do you currently staff? Where are your clients located?
We staff Vibra Hospitals as well as a variety of partner facilities nationwide—including rehab hospitals, LTACHs, acute care centers, and behavioral health facilities. While openings can shift based on client needs, we consistently have opportunities across the country.

Do you pay weekly?
We offer bi-weekly pay to all our clinicians, ensuring reliable and consistent direct deposits every other Friday.
Do you have PRN positions?
While our primary focus is full-time travel opportunities, we do staff PRN roles and have placed clinicians in flexible, as-needed positions across the country. In some cases, travelers have even transitioned into PRN roles after completing a contract.
If PRN is what you’re looking for, let us know—there may be options that fit your goals.
What is the minimum requirement for experience?
To travel with Vibra Travels, we require at least one year of recent experience in your specialty. Some clients may request two or more years, depending on the role or facility.
If you’re close to meeting the requirement, we’re happy to discuss your options and help you plan your next steps!
Will you lower rates during my assignment?
At Vibra Travels, we believe in honoring the rate you sign at—your pay rate will not change mid-contract. We know rate changes can happen in this industry, but we do not lower rates once you’ve started an assignment.
In rare cases where a facility initiates a change, we’re transparent, advocate on your behalf, and do everything we can to find a solution that works for you.
I currently work at one of your locations, but would also like to travel. Is that possible?
Absolutely—it’s possible! While Vibra Travels is a separate company from Vibra Healthcare facilities, we do work closely with many of them. If you’re interested in traveling while staying connected to your current facility, we recommend speaking with your supervisor first.
If approved, you may be able to remain on PRN status at your current location while taking travel assignments through Vibra Travels.
If I live near a hospital, can I be a traveler for that hospital?
Yes—local travel is often an option! While some facilities have specific distance requirements, many do allow local travelers. It can vary by client, but we’re happy to check the details and help you find opportunities close to home.
Do you need an approved vendor for ACLS and BLS Certifications?
Yes—all travelers are required to have current ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) before starting an assignment.
Most of our clients specifically require AHA-issued certifications, so having them ensures you’re eligible for the widest range of travel opportunities.
Can you help me with licensure for a state I don’t live in?
Yes! If you hold a single-state license and want to travel out-of-state, Vibra Travels can help guide you through the licensure process for your destination state. We also reimburse the cost of the application once your assignment is completed.
How quickly can I start my assignment?
We work quickly to get travelers placed and on assignment—most clinicians are ready to start within two to three weeks. Your start date can often depend on how quickly you complete onboarding tasks and submit required documents.
The more responsive you are, the faster we can get you on the road!
Do you have a referral bonus program?
Yes—we love when great clinicians bring other great people our way! Vibra Travels offers referral bonuses for both traveler referrals and for connecting us with healthcare facilities in need of staffing support.
If you know a fellow clinician or a facility looking for help, reach out to your recruiter or connect with Jillian Petrunak, our Director of Business Development, to learn more and get started.
We truly value our community—because the best people know the best people.
How much do you pay?
Pay varies based on your experience, specialty, assignment location, and contract details. Compensation typically includes an hourly wage and, in many cases, a stipend—but that can depend on travel distance, tax home status, and the specifics of the assignment.
While we pay on a consistent bi-weekly schedule, your recruiter will walk you through the compensation details for each assignment so you know exactly what to expect.
What are the typical contract lengths for travel assignments?
Most travel contracts are 13 weeks, which is the industry standard. However, shorter (8 weeks) or longer assignments are also available. Contract extensions for travel staff are commonly offered based on a combination of strong individual performance, positive feedback from facility leadership, and the facility’s ongoing operational needs.
Do you offer housing assistance or stipends?
Yes—we offer tax-free housing stipends as part of your compensation package. Our team can also provide resources and guidance to help you find short-term accommodations near your assignment. You’ll have the flexibility to choose what works best for you.
How does the onboarding process work for travel assignments?
After accepting an offer, you’ll submit documents like licenses, certifications, and health records, and complete background checks and required assessments. Our team provides clear instructions and support every step of the way.
What is the process for submitting timesheets and getting paid?
The timesheet process can vary depending on your assignment. Some facilities use apps for clocking in and out, others may require you to submit a weekly timesheet, and some use on-site systems. Your recruiter will walk you through the exact process before your start date. Once approved, payments are processed bi-weekly, so you can count on consistent pay throughout your assignment.
Do you offer a loyalty or referral program?
Yes—we offer both! Our Traveler’s Advantage Loyalty Program rewards you with points for activities like completing assignments, staying compliant, and engaging with our team. Points can be redeemed for exclusive perks. We also have a referral program for both traveler and client referrals. When someone you refer completes a successful assignment or partnership, you’ll earn a cash bonus or additional loyalty points as a thank-you.
